Can you take this Bandaid off, please?

Jackson has never worn a bandaid on his finger. He was letting me know his finger hurt, so I decided to let him try out a bandaid. I even put one on my finger to show him how "cool" they were to wear one. He wasn't falling for it. He promptly asked me to take it off. He acted like "Oh, my finger doesn't hurt AT ALL anymore! Just kidding, mama! "

Don't you just love his expression?!?

He wanted to take a photo of himself. Ta-Da!

Swinging and a new neighbor buddy

Because of the slight warm-up (63 degrees) we decided it was time to play outside for a little while. The high this weekend is in the 40's. Boo.

Jackson doesn't care for swinging for long periods of time. After 5 minutes, he is ready to go. He is a boy on the move. I guess since we haven't been able to swing lately, it was brand new to him. He was enjoying swing time yesterday. While we were swinging, there was a boy walking down the street. He crossed to our side of the street and we said "hello." He said, "hello little fella" and kept walking. Then, he turned around and started a conversation with us. Jackson was VERY excited and wanted him to play. We brought his ball outside and they had a fun time for about 30 minutes. It was approaching dinnertime and Jackson was starting to get hungry. It was so much fun to see him interact with this "big boy." I can't wait for it to get warmer for more outside time. Jackson just might meet some more little neighbors to play with in the afternoons.

First Watercolor Artwork

Jackson had such a wonderful time painting this morning. I think he might add Art to our list of activities each day.  He hasn't been too interested until recently. I am one proud mama being an artist myself!

Sunday morning playtime

Does he look like he isn't feeling good? ha.

When did he get so tall?!?

He doesn't look like he feels bad

We had Jack's retest on his hearing yesterday morning and HE PASSED. No hearing problems for him. I sort of knew it because he will hear the train coming (windows closed) before WE do. Every minute that he is awake he let's us know when a new train is coming by our home.

Update on the teething diapers: They went on for a week and we called the doctor. For all you new moms, teething diapers go in spurts of a couple of days. Not a week. So, we were asked to come in. We had NEVER had problems with bad diapers during teething so we weren't sure if this was normal. They are asking us to do a stool sample. (third one for mommy to deal with)  Daddy is lucky he is in class today. He is being tested for Celiac disease again and other tests to see what it could be. We have him in oatmeal baths (Aveeno has a great one) and making our own wipes. Great thing is that you wouldn't know this was going on unless you changed his diaper. It is such a blessing he is in a great mood!

So, are we potty training yet?!? Nope. I think we will wait a little longer. :)

Saturday Bearful Birthday!

Clara turned one and we were Beary excited!!!

Somehow, the Dads were off chatting and I took mommy/child photos.

Sharing the ball.

The box that our gift came in was a hit!

rainy day fun

Productive morning

My boy and Aunt "Arbra" (Barbara) played while I went to a local bank in town and was the host of a Thirty-One fundraiser for the March of Dimes and American Cancer Society. It was a lot of fun to go shopping with the ladies at the bank. I even had a bank customer stop in and order something from me after she did her bank run. That gave us a great idea to open it up to the public next year. This was my second year doing this and I hope it continues!

When I got home, I fed Jack and got him ready for his naptime. Then, I promptly put on something more comfortable and entered in the party orders while he napped.

Photos will be coming later on this afternoon. We might have to go play in some puddles on this rainy day. We have a break in the rain until early evening.

We hope you are having a FANTASTIC Friday and have a WONDERFUL weekend!

Teething and dirty diapers

Poor Jack. He has NEVER had the diarrhea diapers with teething. This week has been a new experience. He doesn't feel bad, but he lets us know when it hurts when we change his diaper. With his sad, pitiful face, he signs "hurt" to us. Like this, except, he did not have a smile on his face like this woman. It makes me so sad. He is bouncing around the house and doesn't even let me know when it happens. I changed 5 horrible diapers today. The kind where I want to just put him in the bathtub. Poor dude. I am hoping he will get better soon, or we might miss an exciting time at a birthday party on Saturday. I just don't want to expose little ones if it is not teething. However, he has a great appetite (I am limiting a lot right now) and he is his normal bubbly self.

The last two weeks, I was noticing that he was recognizing some numbers. I wasn't as direct when asking him to tell me the numbers on toys. (As you know from videos of the Alphabet...which I think he knows them all now) Tonight, we were playing with a stacking cake set. They have numbers on them, the stars on each layer match the number on the side. It is a fantastic toy from his sweet cousins. See the toy here. I like links tonight. He proudly told me each number as we stacked them. I couldn't believe it. When did this happen? So, we practiced like 5 more times because I just wanted to hear his sweet little voice exclaim each number.

So, he knows his shapes if I ask him to point to a certain shape out of a group. He can't pronounce them yet. He knows all his letters and numbers 1-10. I am one proud mama!

Well, here are some photos of our playtime this morning. I think this window photo is one of my favorites!
Jack did not have eyebrows when he was born. I think they are here now! This face is cracking me up. What in the world?!? :)

He is getting so big!!

Looking for birds. I LOVE the feeling of this early morning scene.
