Stuffed Animal Adventures

I wasn't sure if Jack was ready for stuffed animals to interact and play together. It was such a terrific time because he understood the concept. He held one animal and I held the other animal. They would greet each other and then talk about their hobbies and interests. He would light up when I came up with different voices for each animal. The turtle would have a low, slow voice. The monkey would have a high nervous bouncy voice. We sat under his table in his fort and had a grand time for 30 minutes. It was what I envisioned when we brought in the table to his room. It just brought so much joy to watch his imagination go wild!

Productive Day!

Today is going to be a productive day! Then, some swimming with neighbors!

Shed

Our new shed is being delivered and put together today!! I can't wait to get our things inside!

Singer

Jack loves to sing and hum to himself. Most of the time, we know what he is singing. All his animals are on the refrigerator. Can you guess what he is singing?

Birds of Prey Show

All we needed was a tree for shade and we would have been great! :)

Callaway Gardens

We have a season pass to Callaway Gardens and we indent to get our money's worth. On Ben's day off today we are spending the morning at our favorite place. We have the same routine when we go, but it is still fun to watch Jack enjoy it every time. This time we will have Jack's grandmother and great-grandmother with us. :) Here's hoping for a nice cool morning 

Fish

Our son HATED the water last year and grabbed onto us like a cat when he attempted to swim.

This year, he went right in the pool, jumped off the side of the pool, swam by himself to the side of the pool within 30 minutes of being in the pool. He also CRIED like it was the end of the world when we told him he had to get out and eat dinner. He attempted to strip three times in order to get his bathing suit back on.

I think he is going to enjoy swimming lessons a lot. 

Handprints

Most people complete these handprint keepsakes around the child's Birthday or Christmas. Better late than never. :) We will see how they will turn out......or it could just be a Pinterest Fail. Here is my inspiration. Handprints website.

Chatterbox

If Jack is looking for something he says "Car, where are you?" (in a doorbell tone: high then low)
If he has completed a task he was working on, he stands up and exclaims "I did it or we did it!!"
If he wants you to see something he says "Pull" and grabs your hand and says "Come on, (your name)." And, then asks "Did you see it? Right there."
He grunts when he picks things up off the floor like a little ole man.
Once he places something in the perfect spot he quietly says "there."


These are just a few things he and I have conversations about on a daily basis.
It is quiet hilarious.

Southern boy

Jack definitely just said " come on y'all!" My boy is showing his southern roots already!

More Twinkle

Potty training back fired tonight. Jackson absolutely LOVES to get rewarded with praise and a sticker when he goes pee pee on the potty. He asks for his "cart" (chart) and everyone has to sit down and help him decide what sticker he would choose. He gets one sheet to choose from. It is a big deal in our house.

Well, tonight, he exclaimed as I was getting him ready for bed that he wanted to go "pee pee in potty." I took him to the potty and he completed his task. However, what came next is still going on as I type this. You would think that he would be finished right after going potty. NOPE. He is currently begging me "more pee pee in potty.....sticker." He knows that if he gets to go on the potty, then he gets more stickers. (I have already given in and taken him. He looked up at me with a sweet smile. Did he go on the potty?! Nope.) Oh boy!

I went in and the only thing that would calm him down was to sing to him. I sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Well, after the first time, I hear "more twinkle." How can you say no to that?! So, after three rounds of the "star song" I said "goodnight." He is now back to stating he has to "poo poo or pee pee" in the potty. I KNOW he doesn't need to, but he wants more time with mommy and more STICKERS. Poor kid. I don't remember the last time he cried himself to sleep over something, but tonight will be another one of those nights.

I might have to turn down the monitor volume.

Jackson ran up to Ben and said "I wuv you" this morning. When I tucked him in tonight, he said "more hug......I wuv you." He didn't want to stop hugging me and giving me eskimo kisses.

Melt your heart. How can you have a bad day with that kind of love?!?

New Day

It is a new day and our dumb CC is not going to bother me. On to projects around the house!

Stolen Credit Card

Someone stole our credit card and went hog wild in Wal-mart in Virginia. Swell.
Now, I am unable to go to bed thinking about it.

I feel violated and irritated.

Shopping day with my boys

We are excited to have a shopping day together in Atlanta on the way back down to LaGrange.

Then, we are picking out our NEW ROOF shingles for our home!

Retirement reception

Now, we are all taking naps and then going to my mom's school for her retirement luncheon! I cannot wait!!! Yay, mom!

time to go

Sad when you have to leave a vacation and go back to the real world. My "new" real world is going to be amazing and I look forward to heading home to start on all my "projects" and get ready for life with my boys. I have enjoyed my time in the mountains, but it is time to go back to "the farm."

The moment we've been waiting for...

Girls are getting massages and pedicures this morning. Boys are going to hang with Jack. I can't wait to relax and be pampered.

I'm done

I can't believe it!
I feel like a new woman! I am donating my work clothes and throwing away my work shoes.
Sad news for my mom. She won't get free coffee. She enjoyed that for a year and a half.

However, I got the best surprise. I thought that my best friend, my hubby, Ben's mom and aunt (and Jack) were coming to just visit me at work tonight. I ended up getting pranked and was surprised with an iPhone 5! I was in shock. I couldn't use my old phone earlier and joked that "well, I guess I need to get an iPhone." And, then he pulled it out of his pocket and handed it to me! WHAT?!?! :) Great evening!

Now, time to CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!

Busy

My schedule is filling up quickly for my time after working at Starbucks.

I am so excited about this new chapter in our lives.

Tomorrow, my best friend arrives to help celebrate my Birthday, Ben's Graduation, to see our home, and to hang out.

I might not sleep with all the excitement.

Well, I guess I will share this sweet photo of my boy and then go to bed.

2 more nights

2 more nights of not having dinner with my family.
2 more nights of not giving a bath to my playful son.
2 more nights of not saying prayers with my sweet boy.
2 more nights of taking a shower at 11:00pm to get the syrup and coffee off my skin.

It was all worth it to stay at home during the DAY with my son, but I will not miss the time I lost with friends and family for events and fellowship.  :)

Last Week

This is my last week at Starbucks.
This is Ben's last week at LaGrange College.
This is my last week to be 28.

Big week. :)

wrapping gifts

This morning, we pulled out all of our gifts and wrapped them for birthdays/anniversaries/mother's day/ father's day coming up.

Jackson was thrilled to help with the ribbon and tape.

Perfect wrapping is so overrated. Wrapping accomplished by a 2 year old is way cuter.

On to organizing the Tupperware that Jackson helped me put away. :)

Home

Jackson and I went to see my best friend graduate from college this Friday. We left early on Friday morning and made it in enough time for him to have a 30 minute nap. (5-6 hour drive) His usual nap time runs for 3 hours. That was fun waking him up.
Then, our adventure got even more hilarious. When we arrived, it had been raining on and off. It looked like a Mud Run could be happening at at moment. Jackson decided he wanted to play in the grass. His shoe came off. Then, he stepped in mud. Then, I took both socks off and put the shoes back on. He fell in mud and messed up his pants. I was wearing white pants not knowing it was outside or that it would be raining. So, I made the decision to leave. Did I get to see her walk across the stage? Nah, but I did get a wonderful photo of her as she entered the ceremony. I can laugh about my adventure.
We enjoyed a lovely party at her home afterwards and laughed about the "time at graduation."

Our drive home was longer and had 77 stops, but we arrived home in one piece and no accidents of any kind.

Our next adventure is going to be watching my husband walk across the stage as a Nurse. We are so proud of him! Only 13 days away!!!!

May Day

We enjoyed celebrating May Day at Story Time this morning! My neighbor and her children were there. I am so glad she told us about Story Time. We are really enjoying it! 

We sat front and center and he was excited and focused the entire time. :) We danced around the May Pole and made a little version of a May pole to take home.
