Bird watching and hiding in barns

Good Morning, birds! On Tuesday morning, we had hundreds of birds hang out in the trees in our yard. I will try and add the video of them flying away. It was breathtaking. They were getting out of town. They knew a storm was coming.

Peek-a-boo! "Mom, can I hide in here during the storm?!"

Blue, Zeekee, and Bunny replacing paci

So, nap time today is going much better than yesterday. He only slept 30 minutes yesterday. He didn't cry today because he had his friends Blue, Zeekee, and Bunny to join in nap time.

Bubbles and Basketball

We decided to go for a walk with Jackson and when we arrived to the front porch we had a bubble party!

Then, we showed Jackson his first basketball game, which happened to be Georgia Tech. He was wearing his Georgia Tech shirt. Can you tell he liked the game?!? I think we have a basketball player on our hands!

Jackson was mimicking a Wake Forest player that fell. We said "ouch, oh no!" This makes me laugh because this was 20 minutes later and he was on the floor looking at me. He picks up on everything!

Highs and Lows

Our High is that DADDY IS HOME!

Our Low is that today is the first day without paci or "wice" as Jackson calls it. He took at 30 minute nap. It is going to be a long week, but we will make it. :)

Book Hoarding

Ben and I have always read books to Jackson in the glider in our living room before his bedtime. Then, we walk to his room say prayers and put him in bed. The End. (there is a reason we do it this way, but that is for another post)

Tonight, I decided to try something different and read a few books in bed. Bad idea. I could tell he was loving it and I could see him glance over to the bookshelf a couple of times. Did I mention that was a bad idea?!?

I have already been in three times to tell him that it is time to go to sleep. He was sneaking over to his bookshelf and grabbing a few books and then piling them on his bed. Then, making another round of "book hoarding" for bed. Now, there is not enough light in the room for him to see, but he was so excited to "come up with the idea" to have books in bed.

The last time I went in, I startled him so bad he started whimpering like a puppy like I had hurt his feelings. I didn't say anything to him, but he was so sad and scared about me rushing in to him. I tried not to laugh.

I decided to let him have one book in bed. He ended up on his belly with the book under his arm like a stuffed animal. My son has been excited about books since day one. I love it. My little reader.

I am going to try and take a photo of this.......

I love skype!

I have been skyping with my hubby while he has been away. I love seeing his handsome face and wonderful smile. One more day.......

No photo

Since I was only with Jackson for the morning, I had too much fun taking mental photos of him while we were playing. I was anticipating being sad at work the whole shift because it was such a long day. I had to work from 1:30-10:30p. However, I received great texts and calls about his day. He was having a blast and enjoyed some pizza with his sitter. I even got to go home an hour early because business was so slow. I had to go in (like the movies) and kiss Jack's forehead while he slept in his cute little bed.

One more day of work........then WE GET TO PICK UP DADDY AT THE AIRPORT! Can you tell I am excited?!?! We miss him.

Good night, world.

Moon

Many new words were spoken today: Horse, cookie, kiss, five, eight, nine, pig, duck, and heart. Last week, he was only making the noise for horse, duck, and pig. Today, he said the words. We have been working on our numbers. He is very excited about the stacking cake with numbers on it his cousins gave him. He likes to count them as he stacks them. Ben was putting on his shoes to go to work and he said "kiss" and ran over with mouth ready for a smooch. My mom and dad were skyping with him and she sent him a heart on the screen. He was proud to proclaim his knowledge of the word heart.
It is very interesting to watch a development of a child. For days they could be soaking it all in and they are not vocal about their discovers. As a parent, you think, "Do they understand? Are they progressing?" Then, all in one day, they "show off" their talents and spit everything out at once. I couldn't keep up with all the "firsts" today. It was an exciting day for us.

Now, you are thinking.......why is the title "moon?" Jackson and I were walking on our daily walk. I usually talk to him about squirrels, owls, dogs, cats, birds, trees, whatever we see or hear. Jack decided that he was tired of hearing about those things and exclaims "moon!!!" It was 4pm and the sun was literally blinding as we walked today. I thought, "okay, sweetie, that is nice. You want to see the moon." I looked up and smiled. He showed me pay attention and look for new things on our walk.  Jackson's little mind is so interesting and wonderful. Jackson sees birds and squirrels and yells "weeee" like they are on a trapeze and are having a blast in the trees. His imagination goes wild.

I know with working at Starbucks, I do the same thing everyday. I serve coffee. We have our "regulars" and they order the same thing. (creature of habit) I put on the same head-to-toe black attire and wear the same green apron. I use black sharpies to personalize your drink. I wear my hair in a pony tail everyday. Sometimes, I feel like a hamster. But, then I remember that there is a little boy at home that cannot wait to play with me and show me something new everyday. I am providing for my husband and son. And, then I try and find something new in my customers, my work, my job. I try and create some "weeeee" in my job. Because, while it feels like May can't come soon enough, I know that it will be here before you know it. I will be a full time stay-at-home mommy to the coolest little boy I know. Our little Ladd.

January Spring Cleaning

I am on a roll (call me butter) and intend to continue my cleaning spree. I am throwing stuff away and cleaning out our closet. We usually move every year. In 6 years of marriage, we moved 6 times. No lie. (ask my Dad) However, we plan on being in this house at least 4 years. I would like to move treasures, not trash and junk next time. I am on an organizing spree.

After that: photo organization. I have every excuse to wait until.........and enough is enough. I don't want to wait to organize my photos until I retire. I am going to do it now. Those of you who know me, know I have a lot of photographs.

This lady inspired me. I am ready! I can do it!

Surgery Day

4:45AM our alarms went off. Ugh. We arrived for his surgery and he got his "happy medicine" and he was on his way to the back. Ben arrived with our breakfast and they were bringing him back in. It is such a quick procedure I almost didn't have enough time to go to the bathroom. They warned us he would be angry coming out of surgery. It was so pitiful. After "Hungry Jack" ate more breakfast than mommy, he was back to his old self. We are all taking naps now....well, Daddy is snoring next to me. Jackson is deciding if he wants to take a nap. I hope Jack makes the right decision so mommy can nap too.

Before Surgery. Tickling Jackson

All ready to go

After surgery. He is out of it.

Baby Bracelet. He repeated, "off" so many times.
