Crawling 12-2-2011

It is official! My boy is a crawler! I made a video and I will have to upload it later.

Other news, Charles, Quay, and the girls surprised dad for his birthday and drove from MS on Friday. We all have Sunday together and we will all leave on Monday to return home. Jack is enjoying cousin time.

The Ladd trio is off to Colorado on Thursday to go to "grandmother's house" we go......

Well, enjoy your Sunday, world.

Smack those lips.

I love it when Jack is about to eat and he will smack his lips or post- eating, do the same.
It is sooo adorable.

He is enjoying pulling up on EVERYTHING and is starting to crawl more.

He is sleeping better at night, but not through the night. One day....

Alright, he is done eating. More sleep for me. Goodnight..

In 7 days.....

Jackson has changed so much in 7 days and I am shocked I have not been on here. Work has been crazy! This week, I worked Monday night, split shift on Tuesday, none on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night. I did a Thirty-one holiday Expo show yesterday from 10-4 and I have day two of the show today from 12:30-3:00. Wild!!

Alright, my little man is growing up so fast!

Ben was studying for his exam on Monday night and Jackson was playing on the floor. Ben needed more index cards so he went into the guest bedroom for a "second" and when he came back, Jackson was holding onto the couch, eating his index cards that were left alone on the couch. "Nom, Nom, Nom" Um, he can pull up! That night, he decided he wanted to pull up on the bed. Now, when he wakes up, that is what he does religiously. We have now lowered the bed. :)

Wednesday, his second bottom tooth popped through now and he has two bottom teeth now.

Monday, he took one normal crawling step...and then would fall down. By Friday, he would take 6 crawling steps and fall down. I think I am going to be chasing Jackson from now on.

He went to bed at 8 and i am now nursing him at 4:30!!!!!

And, we started eating meat. Enough said. :)

Oh, what a week can do.

Sleepy boy

I was feeding Jack and trying to burp him and somehow his head ended up resting on my hand. Remember when you were little and you would be at a table and put your cheek on the table to sleep?! My hand. The table.

Okay, he was completely asleep letting me pat his back, sitting straight up. So.cute.

I took a mental picture.

Gosh, I love this sleepy boy.

6 days

Jackson decided that between 5-6 AM seems to be a good time to start his day. The time change really threw him off. This went on for 6 days! And, I will add, he magically knew his mommy got home from work at 11pm....and would want to be fed and play.
6 days....it took to break one of those habits. Small victory. I fed him at 11:30 and then at 4. USUALLY...err, lately, he does not want to go back to sleep at 4, but this morning, he slept until 7 AM. He finally got it.

Now, if I can just get rid of the waking up twice at night. He is teething, so we are working on making him comfortable....as possible..

In other great news, he is pulling up by himself and getting that rocking going like he is about to take off in a race. Must.baby proof.the.house.

He is eating baby food three times a day and puffs. He as mastered pinching the disolvable puffs with his adorable fingers and hitting his target around 89.76% of the time!
*documentation done in this study.

And, to end this post, I absolutely love dancing with my son. We dance "old school style" and he knows exactly what to do. He will grab my thumb and even loves pressing his cheek up to mine. We could dance for hours and he would never get tired. Love my boy!

I tried everything

Jack slept from 8-3. I fed him at 3, but this time was different. He did NOT want to go back to sleep. He acted like I had caffeine in my milk. I tried rocking, music, rubbing his back. "cry it out" method. He was WIDE awake!

He finally slept from 4:30-5:30. At 5:30, he woke up AGAIN and he ended up sleeping on my chest. That is definitely not my ideal situation, but I was desperate. I worked at Starbucks until 10:45 and I was turning into a zombie.

What do you do when this happens? He has Never wanted refuse going back to sleep at night.

My little helper

While Jackson rode in the Snuglei carrier, I raked. He enjoyed the fresh air and even helped rake....by grabbing the handle. He enjoyed that game.
Also, only mommy got a blister. :) I am sure the neighbors enjoyed the show.

BTW, our yard looks great! Tomorrow's forecast: thunderstorms. At least it was pretty for one day!

Daylight Savings

I love that my son wants to go to bed at 6pm, but it really messes him up in the morning wanting to start his day at 6 AM. I am trying to help him, but I think it will take a week to master.

Sleepy mommy.

Sunday, October 30, 2011

You never know....

Some nights I get to sleep from 8-6, some nights I only sleep in chunks of time. 9-1 and 3-5.

That whole "By George, I think he's got it" thing goes out the window when they are teething and on a growth spurt.

How do people have lots of children? They never sleep.....for years....I guess that's why retired people sleep all the time. They need to catch up...

Mamamama

Yes! In the two days I have been at training, my son is starting to babble. I miss so much!

1:00 A, he is trying to tell me he has wet his outfit and has a poopie. He turns and pulls down the bumper and peeks through the bars while babbling "mamamamam.". I go in his room thinking he just needs a paci. I did this about 6 times before feeling his outfit. He was Not yelling or being ridiculous. It was the sweetest thing how he was saying "mommy"thank you for rubbing my back, but that is not the problem." THEN, when I changed his outfit and diaper, he just starred up at me with sweet eyes, "thanking" me. Not the norm. We had a "moment."

I am now feeding him so he can sleep until 7. I will sleep well knowing that I had a special bonding moment with my sweet son that cannot talk, but said so much with his eyes.

Jack did well!

He did well yesterday and had a great time playing at his sitter's house. I did fine, but couldn't wait to get home to my boys!

First day without Jack

Training with Starbucks does not work out with our schedules, so for 2 days, Jack has to go spend his day with a sweet lady, Bernice.

So, I am not only nervous about Starbucks, I am a little emotional about leaving Jack.

Once I begin officially working, I will be with him all day and Ben will be with him in the evenings.

Here we go....

Sunday, October 23, 2011

Show me your tooth!

Say "ahhhhhh" as Jackson mimics me so i can see that monumental icon of growing up. And there it is! A tooth has broken through!

Kisses

I love trying to wake up Jack with kisses. He smiles a little Elvis smile like "awww, mom" He is just like his Daddy. I love my son.

Traveling Baby

Tomorrow is the Adoption Auction for my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. I am excited for them and think it will be very nice. I am setting up the show and decorating, with a lot of help. I will feel much better when I can get there and spread everything out and move it all around like a puzzle. Most people get anxious and don't know where to begin. I have been thinking about this for a month. There are 55 items. The only problem is the space. Will there be enough room for 75+ bodies, food, drinks, auction items, and a DJ. I will make it happen. I look forward to getting it all done.

You say, "what about Jackson? Where will he be in all of this?" Sleeping in his pack N play and hanging out with Daddy. I have the most supportive husband on the planet!

Now that I am working nights, Ben is in charge of Jackson from afternoon until 11 or midnight each night.
My life will be crazy until may 2013, but I am so blessed to have such a perfect schedule for our chapter in life. Plus, free coffee each week. Who wouldn't want that?!

Army crawling, rocking, and pulling up

And, here we go! Jackson is crawling faster than a turtle now and wanting to go to anything that is not toy related. Thank goodness he has not discovered the kitchen or bedrooms. Yesterday, he successfully pulled up on his table toy. Oh boy!

He is also sitting up in the bathtub, but does not like it when you turn on the water while he is in the tub. It is apparently a monster out to get him.

His personality is blossoming now. He is such a little teaser. He likes to cut his eyes at you and smirk. All the ladies in the stores and restaurantS love to chat with him. Oh, he puts on a show. Such a flirt!

Next week will be my first full week-during the week away from him. I have Starbucks training during the day. Jackson will be going to a sweet lady's house to play and then on Thursday and Friday, Be Be will be babysitting. After training, Ben will be having Daddy-son time while mommy is at work in the evenings. I am so blessed with God's plan for us at this time.

Feeling blessed,
Laura

Thank you! 8 hours

After 6 days of NO sleep, I got 8 hours of sleep! If I had gone to bed with my little man, I would have gotten 11 hours! I guess that growth spurt is over for now. Sleep is good! :)

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Monday. Peaches.

Jackson gives peaches two thumbs up....well, two arms up. He gets so excited when he eats. He will either grab his hair or hit the tray if we do not feed him fast enough. Ha!

Monday, October 17, 2011

Times

11:00,11:30, 12:30,1:00, 3:00, 3:30....and then 7:15. I fed that boy three meals yesterday too. If he is going to be tall like his daddy, I guess I better get used to it. :)

Fed him at 12:45 and at 3:30. Um, growth spurts stink.

no sleep for this lady

Well, we have reverted back to month 1 when he decided he wanted to wake up every 1.5-2 hours and in baby talk try and tell me he is uncomfortable.

With the changing season, it is hard to put him in a onesie and be cold, or footie Pjs and be hot. So, I did a short sleeve, long pant, footless pjs. When he went to bed, his room was 77 degrees. At 7am, his room was 72 degrees. I was having a hard time with the A/C-Heat dilemma.

Well, he woke up at 11, 12:30, 2, 3:45, 5:20, 5:40 and 6am. I decided at 6AM that he would just come and sleep in my bed. He slept until 7am.

I ran into the doorway at 2 AM trying to figure out what the problem was. Ouch! I was a zombie all night. Ben was out of town, so I was on my own.

Thank goodness he is taking a 2 hour nap this morning, so I can have some mental time. You say, "why don't you go take a nap!??" Well, 2 cups of coffee hinders the napping process, so I guess relaxing will have "to do" for this tired lady. Daddy comes home at 2pm today and I think an afternoon nap will be in order. :)

Somehow, through all of this, I still feel blessed and humbled to be able to be a stay-at-home mommy and take care of this little boy, I call "Jack."

Well, my little Ladd is stretching and waking up. Feeding time....

One month vs. 6 months with Daddy

Men and babies are the same when it comes to food

Overfeed them and they will get a tummy ache.

Too many sweet potatoes, green beans, and then prunes.....oh dear! He looked like a little bird so we kept feeding the little bird. There needs to be a limit, son!

Live and learn.

So long ago

It seems so long ago that I remember praying for Jackson to go to sleep at night. It would take 2 hours sometimes. Well, we finally have it down to the minute. He knows exactly when something is going to happen and doesn't fight it! Bath at 8, relaxation time, eat @ 8:30, bed at 9:00. It is beautiful. Now, when he officially sleeps from 9-7, then I will be one happy mommy. We are so close. I do like journaling to keep these phases into perspective.

I REALLY like 6 month age. Everyday is something new!

Well, I better go to sleep while I can! :)

The Coweta Fair

No, a cow did not eat the fair....badum ching!

Jackson loved the lights and spending time with his cousin, London, and his girlfriend, Evelyn. Henry and Jack fight over Evelyn. ;) JK the fair is actually much cleaner than the Cumming Fair and there aren't as many smokers. It was nice!

His favorite part was the Mutt dog show. He loved it! They were so cute with their tricks.
Least favorite: petting zoo. Jackson cried in terror if we came near the goats or miniature pony.

Well, going to eat some breakfast with my son! TGIF!

3:30-5:00am

At least I went to bed at 10:00pm. Trying to get my son to sleep through the night is like......blank...can't think of anything....going to sleep for 2 more hours.

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

Tall for 6 months!

Jackson is 17lbs 6oz and 28 inches long. She said he is going to be tall! She never said he wasn't gaining enough weight, but for being so tall, I wanna fatten him up! He did well with immunization shots and played hard all day. He didn't sleep the whole day like last time.

Mommy, on the other hand, should have gone to bed when Jackson did. I went to bed at 12:30 and I am feeding him now at 4:00. I was working on a craft job and needed to get the bulk of it done....I will drink coffee when he is officially up for the day.....

6 months old and growth spurt

I am so happy Jackson likes Avacado, Bananas, sitting up, standing with assistance.
I am ready for this growth spurt to be finished. Footie pajamas and 2 nighttime feedings do not mix well. :)
I love him so much! He is so funny and has such a personality to him! These 6 months have been glorious. Sleep or no sleep, he is still the greatest gift from God!
Happy 6 month Birthday, Jackson!

P.S.- if my calculations are correct, I have changed at least 1,456 diapers so far! :)

2 days

In two days, my son will be 6 months old. Where did the time go?

Store run Through the flooded streets

My son is past just eating plain rice cereal. He needs fruit mixed in. Good meals equals sleeping through the night. Well, when you run out of fruit and just give him rice cereal, you do not sleep from 3 a m on. Yesterday, through the flooded streets, I went out and got that boy some food. I better get some good sleep tonight. Zombie mommy is not an attractive look.

Thursday, September 22, 2011

Baby Bullet

I purchased a Baby Bullet food processor for $6.75. New, not used. No, that is not a typo. I had a few things to return and I also had a gift card and a coupon. It made my day!
I am so ready to make his food! We are going to the grocery store today! He already likes Bananas! We will try Avacado today! Yippee!

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

I think he's got it!

Well, my little guy slept from 9:30-6:30 on Sunday night. He woke up at 3 and 5, but only wanting his paci. I was getting tired of getting up, but knew he would slept longer once he was eating rice cereal more. He eats bananas in his rice cereal now. I think that is helping.

Last night, 9:30-6:30, but only waking up at 4am. I put the paci in and he slept until 6:30. Maybe tonight (Tuesday night) he will give up that wake up time.

Now, if only I could go to bed when he does.......ha!

Excited mommy! 6 months of not sleeping through the night!!! Most mommies get sad that they don't have that nighttime feeding anymore...um....nope! I am ready! I love sleep!

New phone, new food, new trick

I bought (well, it was free) a new phone! Christmas in September!
My son tried bananas tonight and loves them.
J decided he wanted to stand up holding on with one hand. His right foot had his heel planted like he was doing a "taa daa" move! All of this while admiring himself in the mirror. I love my boy!

Monday, September 12, 2011

You just don't know how important your phone is to you until it breaks...

All I can do is dial a number.....and....hang up. I have loved this phone to death. I have two hours left until Ben comes home. I have a car in case I need to go somewhere.
I feel like Funny Farm. Maybe I will just get a pay phone installed for times like these.

Friday, September 9, 2011

Dinosaur on October 31st.

At a consignment sale, I found a Gymboree dinosaur outfit for $4!!!! Score! It is the perfect size and practically brand new! I am sure a 6-9 month old doesn't wear their costume very long! And, we have a wonderful neighborhood where Halloween will be a blast this year! I can't wait! My cute little Dino.......

Sleep

Little man was having a hard time going to sleep last night. He went to bed at 10, but I am happy to announce he didn't wake up until 5:30!!!! Yahoo!!! Let's hope this trend continues!

Tuesday, September 6, 2011

Man parts

He discovered his man parts during his bath last night. Oh my!

Other news! I am walking and doing yoga now which have been wonderful. I feel so much better when I workout. I have great compatibility partners which help. By myself, I can't do it. :)

Friday, September 2, 2011

"Do you see me reaching, mommy? Come get me!!"

He started intentionally reaching for me when he wanted out of his exercise saucer/play jungle gym. I am unsure of what it is officially called, but the expression was amazing.
I.feel.wanted.and.loved. My boy is growing up!

Tonight, we walked with mommies with baby's that were born this summer. Jackson looked like a giant. That is what happens in 5 months. :) Will my little Ladd be really 6 months old September 25th?!? Wow.

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Personality

I just love Our little Ladd's personality that is starting to blossom. Ben and I will watch his eyebrow go up or an "Elvis" lip happen and we have no idea what he is thinking, but he is just so.darn.cute. It will be fun down the road to have conversations to see what is going on in his brain. I know he is going to have Ben's sense of humor and sweet spirit!
I am watching Jackson playing in the crib, in the monitor. He decided he wanted to eat his feet and have a conversation. Thank goodness he know how to flip over from his back to his front because I am not going in there unless I have to. I am tired of giving him a paci he can't put back in his mouth. Ha! Maybe I will get a little bit of sleep before 7 AM.

Tuesday, August 30, 2011

Need help!

Alright, mommies! I need your help again! :) Jack is not sleeping through the night. We have tried to stop feeding him between 1-4. He wakes up at 1 and we put the paci in. Then, he wakes up at 4....and we put the paci in if he is okay "diaper wise."
Between 3-5, if he won't go to sleep, I feed him. At 7, we start our day feeding.

WELL, the last couple of days, he wants to wake up every 20 minutes from 3-5. In my book, it says that he will realize he is not going to get fed and stop waking up.

We have been giving him the paci for 3 weeks now. From 3-7, we aren't really sleeping. He isn't screaming, but he we think he won't go back to sleep.

I am fine feeding him at 4 still, but 3.....4....5..., he wakes up.

It says in "healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" that they could still get up for one night feeding until 9 months and that is normal. The constant wake up at 1, maybe 3 am is not. :(

Still learning!

Other children

I think it is hilarious that Jackson loves other children until they make a noise. Then, it is major poochy lip time.

He met a baby 11 days older than him. They were both soooo excited. Then, the baby squealed with excitement.....and it was ALL over.

5 months old

Wow! Time flies!

My son turned over from his back to his tummy unassisted and now he loves to exercise whenever possible.

He loves for us to drape a sheet or blanket on top of him so he can kick it off. Weird version of peek-a-boo/where's Jackson.

He thinks it is hilarious for me to nuzzle my nose in his chest. Mommy's game is to try not to get her hair pulled out. Ha!

He is almost sleeping through the night. I love sleep and I believe I am a much better mommy when I have it.

He is an extremely happy baby. He loves to rock and read. He can sit with me for 30 minutes to wind down from all his playtime.

I laughed today reading a book that stated "make sure your child is getting enough playtime/exercise in their day." My little Ladd actually wears himself out from kicking and turning so much. I can tell he is going to be a little athlete. I have never seen a baby kick so much in my life. I have bruises to prove it. And, when playing on the floor with him.....legs away from the face. Ha!

Ben has gotten a sweet bond with our Ladd now. He can put him to sleep now!! (yes) he loves the afternoon when Daddy comes home.

As I finish this post, my son is contently having a conversation with me in baby language. I will change his diaper and we will go play on the play mat. If Jackson finds this post one day, I hope he knows that Mommy loves him very much.
Friday, is Ben's last day of work. Starting the 30th, he will be a Junior nursing student at my alma mater. This is a new and exciting chapter for us! I know Ben will be at the top of his class!

First flight

Our little man is going on his first flight at 6:30 tomorrow morning. We have a layover in Texas, but I will be feeding him going up and down. Colorado, here we come!!!

Jurrastic Period for 4 months old

I am really loving this stage in Jackson's life. New things are happening everyday for him.
Currently, his cry has changed from a baby cry to either a baby dinosaur or a boy reaching puberty. Hard to explain, but it sounds like he is loosing his voice.....or actually gaining his voice!
He is happy now all day, except when he is hungry or ready for a nap.(what human doesn't get cranky?!?)
He is almost constantly sleeping through the night. Yay for sleep...mommy is a better mommy! No rice cereal or baby food. He is not ready. He is nursing much better and I am drinking more water to aid in the effort.
My favorite time is watching him eat. He rubs his head and hair like a newspaper editor told him to redo his article for the deadline in an hour. So intense and passionate. He also grabs my shirt which cracks me up.
I love his gummy smile. It is my goal to make him laugh and smile just to see the joy in his face!
He is 15.8 lbs and I have held him while working out. That is a workout in itself. Squats are the best!
I am almost back to pre- pregnancy weight, but my body shape has changed....darn, I have to
get new clothes! Hehehe
The Lord has taught me a lot about perseverance, faith, trust, and patience. I think that when I go back to teaching I will be much more patient! :)

Well, playtime is about to start, so I must go.

A proud mommy of a sweet miracle from the Lord,
Laura

Dentist

I hate going to the dentist. Not because of my bad teeth,(cavity free) but because the way my mouth feels afterwards. Thanks, mom, for watching Jack while I go....not sure what he could have done during the rinsing and spitting session......session is at 10 AM. I will let ya know how it goes.

Pinterest is my friend.

Enough said.

Home, Home, in LaGrange

Tomorrow we will be heading back down to the house. I look forward to my home. My stuff. My bed. My couch. Ahhhh....

My good friend, Tiffani, just gave me four iron chairs to go on my front porch. They are beautiful! I just have to paint and recover them, but I am up for the challenge! All I need is a table to go with them! Love them!

2 girls night out and a playmate for mommy (not really for Jack) was so good for my soul. I feel more energized to be a mommy again.

Tuesday, July 5, 2011

Back and forth

We went to LaGrange on Saturday. We went to Cumming on Monday. We will go to LaGrange on Wednesday or Thursady. We will go back to Cumming on Thursday night. Whew!

I am ready for the end of August. We will not be nomads any longer.

3 months old today, a message from Ben.

From the daddy:

Our little guy is already 3 months old! On one hand, it seems like he was born yesterday. On the other, it seems like forever ago.

He had his first "belly" laugh 2 days ago. Glad we got it on the flip cam!

Today, we found a new trick for a happy car ride. I downloaded some baby shows on the iPad and we play them for him in the car. I know you might think we are bad parents... Just to add fuel to the fire, HE SLEEPS ON HIS TUMMY TOO!!! :)

Time

How do I change the time? My time zone is off on my post times.

Joy comes in the early morning

Jackson has been sleeping from 10-6 or 11-7. Today, it was 9-4. I don't mind getting up that early. I get quiet time with Jackson. I don't talk to him. We have non verbal mommy and Jack time. He goes back to sleep much easier if we don't chat. He is a social butterfly!
As I feed him, Ben sleeps so sweetly beside us. Then Jackson lays on me while I burp him and he is in a food coma. Ben is sound asleep and I look and realize, "this is my family. I love my boys!" I quietly put Jackson back to sleep and I will not feed my little guy again until the sun comes up.
I will always cherish our quiet night time feedings.

Did I win?!

I hope we win!
We need some mommy and daddy time!

We love our home and neighborhood!
Jack loves his room too! First time sleeping through the night happened June 11th in his new room!
Joy!

Last day to pack

It is on!!! Last day to pack and it will be a kid free one! I wish I could drink caffeine to move extra fast. I will be going on pure determination to get this house ready. We will leave at 7 AM to go to LaGrange for the house closing on Friday! We can do it!

Wednesday, June 8, 2011

One day left

Yes, I am blogging. I currently have an almost 11 week old on my chest sleeping. He is having a hard time with the move. He sleeps for 30 minutes and stays awake to eat, play, and then sleep just long enough for me to pack a couple of boxes. It has been a rough day. I have tried all the tricks. He will only sleep on my chest. He normally will only sleep in hs crib. Tomorrow, he is spending the day with NeNe and G so mommy and Daddy (ben is taking off) can finish packing. Don't worry...I have been pumping so he can have breast milk! Friday, we are closing on the house and Saturday we are moving! It is going to be a long couple of days!

Thursday, June 2, 2011

Rolled over

It is official and no accident!

Jackson has now done this 4 times in a 8 hr period, so I know it is no accident.....He rolled over from his stomach to back! This last time he was upset that he did it because he was hungry and looked like a turtle that was flipped over..... "what just happened?!?!"

From the books:
When it develops
Your baby may be able to kick himself over, from his tummy to his back, as early as age 2 to 3 months. It may take him until he's about 5 or 6 months to flip from back to front, though, because he needs stronger neck and arm muscles for that maneuver.

Month of May

We went to the Fernbank Museum to see Mythic Creatures. BeBe went with us and we had a blast! May 4, 2011
View from the stroller!

Watch out behind you, Jackson!!!
Look closely, you will see his face!
He was not a fan of my smoke from my candles! Priceless! 27th birthday!

Learning to sit in our Bumbo chair.

When I'm not playing with my son, I'm packing.....or blogging :)
Here are some recent photos!

2 month shots

These photos are the before and after-s of getting his 2 month shots. Poor guy!

I'd rather be playing

I'd rather be playing with this little guy than packing. We will be packing up the truck next Friday! I don't know how I am going to do it. I feed and play with Jackson every 2-3 hours. It is crazy moving with a baby. However, it is better than with a toddler! :)
I know it will all get done! :)

Stuck in my head....singing along to When The Boat Comes In.

This is on his Fisher Price® Soothing Vocal Lullabies CD by Mother's Love.
I call him "my little man."
How appropriate.

Dance to your Daddy, my little laddie
Dance to your Daddy, my little man

You shall have a fishy on a little dishy
You shall have a fishy when the boat comes in

Dance to your Daddy, my little laddie
Dance to your Daddy, my little man

You shall have a coatie and a pair of britches
You shall have a coatie when the boat comes in

Dance to your Daddy, my little laddie
Dance to your Daddy, my little man
Dance to your Daddy, sing to your Mummy
Dance to your Daddy, my little man

Dance to your Daddy, my little laddie
Dance to your Daddy, my little man

When you are a man and come to take a wife
You shall wed a lass and love her all your life

Dance to your Daddy, my little laddie
Dance to your Daddy, my little man
Dance to your Daddy, sing to your mummy
Dance to your Daddy, my little man

Sniff sniff

Jack cannot take the intensity of someone sniffing their nose. This is a common occurrence with Ben. Last night I was feeding him and he jerked off of me (ouch) and got the poochy lip and tears were about to begin. This morning, I forgot this new "trick" and scared him when I did this offensive habit. However, he doesn't mind Ben's snoring......

We are moving!

Ben got accepted. Into the nursing program at LaGrange College for the Fall 2011! Ben also received the Sims Scholarship for a tuition free schooling if he commits 2 years to the local hospital. Oh course we will! So, we will be in LaGrange at least 4 years. We decided to look at buying a house because it probably would be cheaper to buy and it would be a great investment.

We have never owned a home! So, we decided to meet our realtor Saturday, May 7th. She was going to start by showing us 3 houses. We met her at 518 Jefferson Street. We pulled up in the driveway of 520 Jefferson street and started to yell! Our neighbors would be some of our dear friends!! How amazing! What was even better was that the house was perfect for us! We looked at the other two and kept going back to 518. Monday morning we called to get pre-approved. By Saturday May 14th, we were in her office signing an offer to send to DASH. More on DASH later. Monday, may 16th-they accepted the offer! Wow! Going from looking at houses to get accepted...whew!

Now, to pack while Jackson sleeps is always a challenge. It is coming together slowly. I have a lot to throw out and get rid of to move into our bungalow home!

April 23-May 3rd. Watch me grow!!!

May 1st: Jackson was dedicated at Grace Fellowship Church!
Jackson's first bath in the bath tub. He is not too sure about it, but didn't cry like he had been on his other bath foam tub. May 2nd.
Grace got to meet Jackson for the first time on April 30th. She loves him so much!

Jackson sure does love his Ne Ne. (taken May 1st)

All of the grandchildren together for Ne Ne's birthday!!

Kisses from cousin, Grace!
I do NOT like the vacuum! May 2nd.
I really like my mobile! April 26, 2011

I got sick with a virus and had to go to the ER at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. They took care of me and even gave me a stuffed bunny because it was Easter! April 24th.
My cute Easter outfit. I wasn't feeling good that day, but couldn't express it to mommy very well.

April 22nd. One month old today!!

April 21st

I took the photos yesterday, but didn't get a chance to post them. :)
Jackson, iPad, and the Boppy are the three things we need in order for him to eat.
The little guy wakes up and quickly lets me know that he is hungry. The first picture is taken right when I pick him up. Quiet, calm, a little chatty. Second, 30 seconds into the photo session, he tells me, "NOW." The third photo is during eating. The iPad tracks his diapers and feeding schedules. It is a perfect ap because it has the statistics.

Introduction is in order...Jackson Thomas Ladd

I guess I didn't get a chance to show off my son, Jackson Thomas!!

Well, here is my stud at 3 weeks old! (no, I did not position his hand there) :)

He was born on March 25, 2011. 10:21 PM. 7 lbs 12 oz. 20 1/2 inches long.

Starting today....

I know that this blog has not been updated in a while. Now that we have a laptop, I will be able to update, hopefully, daily on the life of our little boy!

April 20th is the start of my new goal!

Jackson Thomas FINALLY slept through the night with eating and then going back to sleep! PRAISE!

Today, we took a trip to the Board of Education to drop off some paperwork and then to KOHL'S. Shopping is not his thing because he slept right though it. :) He was a great sport and let mommy spend her Kohl's cash to buy daddy's Easter shirt.

We are in LOVE with sleeping in the car seat by the dryer. When I say, "We," I mean, mommy....but Jackson does go right to sleep with the lull of the clothes flipping around.

Well, hopefully, I will be able to take a nap in a moment.

Signing off,
New Mommy

My Little Man at 28 weeks

Trying to find his thumb to suck on. :)
Sweet smile!

Snowed in and so much to think about...

Well, as I am sitting and writing this, little Jackson is kicking away. That whole fetal count doesn't really apply to me because he kicks ALL THE TIME. I don't have to count 10 times in 2 hours.......he kicks 10 times in 2 minutes!!

It is such a joy to have this connection with this little miracle. It amazes me how he grows and changes daily! I am praying that Jackson will be a wonderful man of God like his Daddy is!

I am feeling wonderful, physically. I mean.....the normal changes of back pain, going potty every hour, and my body changing daily is something I knew that would happen. I have had a fantastic pregnancy. I am at 31 weeks and I just feel joyful!

Ben and I have been working a little bit on Jackson's room. I will post pictures once we get it all ready! Ben has been such a wonderful supporter and helper! I was not surprised at how helpful he would be through this whole thing, but he still surprises me with his willingness to jump up and do something before I can even think about it!

I am stubborn sometimes, I know.......I have learned a lot through this pregnancy in asking for help. Even more so now, I have to step back and let someone carry or lift something for me. At school, I ask my students for help more than ever!

Speaking of school.....it was refreshing to have a week off from school and just mentally prepare and think about things. I have been needing to finish up my lesson plans for my long term substitute and VOILA.....I just finished them this morning. One of my coworkers has been listening to me talk about how I feel that I am running out of time to get all my supplies and lessons ready. She said, I don't know if you prayed for this or not, but I know that I want to be on your prayer list because you have a great connection with Him! :) A couples days would have been nice, but a full week has been unexpected and magical. I have not taken this time for granted. I have watched 4 movies, lots of news coverage, and Price is Right! I have also cleaned my house and done "who knows how many" loads of laundry. The only thing I have not washed is stuff for Jackson's room. I have a little more time for that. Reading will be my priortiy tomorrow and also I will be making a wreath for Jackson's door at the hospital. Look for them on A TAD OF LADD blog. (coming soon). I will start selling them for Baby Shower gifts. I'm always looking for new creative things to make.

I think I am done rambling on.......more pictures to come!
