Love/Hate Relationships with Balloons

Jack LOVES to tell us where balloons are located and is very excited to see them! We went to Red Robin today and he pointed to them like he wanted one. Then, when we tied it to his wrist, he was paralyzed with fear and held his arm out like it was a horrible thing. We took it off his wrist and tied it around a spoon. Then, the waitress was asking us if we got our balloon when we were leaving. Oh, brother. We decided to tie it on his car seat.  As you can tell from the photos, he was not thrilled. Check out him grabbing his foot so he won't get near it. (mean mom for taking photos)

We said goodbye to the balloon outside the car and let it go up into the sky.

And, then we got yogurt. Oh, life's moments are entertaining.

Daddy's Birthday week

We are excited that it is Daddy's Birthday Week! And, then we will leave it up for Jackson's birthday on the 25th! Woohoo! Jackson decided he didn't want to share his Dad and Grandfather's Birthday by coming 15 days later. :) AND, his Great Uncle and Great Grandmother's Birthday is on the 22nd.  Lots of people in our family sharing birthdays.

Swinging fun while the weather was nice on Monday. Wednesday's high is in the low 50's/high 40's. No swing time today.

Do you hear the train, mom?!?!

St. Patrick's Day Activities

We are going to start St. Patrick's Day activities this week. We randomly had these marshmallows in the cabinet. I decided it was time to branch out from watercolor and crayon.

Here is our first one:

Here is the results! We had fun. He wasn't too sure about glue. Afterwards, I really confused him when we ate the other marshmallows.

Mondays are amazing

Mondays are my day of rest. Ben works every Monday, therefore, I do not work. I do not feel guilty for resting and napping and watching a show.  I am also productive with errands. Most places are closed/close early on Saturdays/Sundays. So, Mondays are errands day.

Most people do not like Mondays. Mondays are my favorite.

Well, my little man took at 3 hour nap and is finally up. Coupons are clipped, to do list ready for Wal-mart. Off to our errands for the afternoon.

Enjoy the rest of YOUR Monday. I hope it wasn't stressful or crazy. If so, don't worry. YOUR day of rest is coming soon.

IKEA apron and orange as the color of the day

I found a two pack of aprons at Ikea. I think they are meant for eating bibs, but the one that I found for artwork time would be too big for Jackson.

This morning, he literally got upset when I was getting him down from Art time.

I decided to work on the colors and names by showing him all the different shades of one color. We talk about it and named things that are that specific color. Today, as you can see, was the color Orange. Art time is becoming our favorite time of the day.

I doodled while he was working on his. He was mimicking my zig zag lines. You can see, I didn't add enough to MY artwork. He needed to help. I love all the shades in a row. I just want to glue them to a canvas and let them melt. Pinterest peeps know what I am talking about.

Fast painting action going on here.

What I have started doing with his scribbled drawings. I think I will mount them to paper and frame them to hang in his room.

big day

Jack and I met my parents at IKEA and enjoyed shopping and hanging out. Then, we had planned on going to a birthday party of a family member, but Jack just didn't feel good. He is still dealing with intestinal problems. We are waiting on the doctor to tell us what is going on. He has had problems since February 18th. He is a roller coaster of great mood and then he all of a sudden doesn't feel good. I hope they can figure out what is wrong. I have tried changing his diet, but nothing seems to help his 4-5 bad diapers a day. Poor fella.

Ben is working a 12 hour shift, and then I go in at 7:30-11:30p. Did I tell you I am ready for him to graduate?!? This is simply crazy.

Happy, but exhausted mama.

Can you take this Bandaid off, please?

Jackson has never worn a bandaid on his finger. He was letting me know his finger hurt, so I decided to let him try out a bandaid. I even put one on my finger to show him how "cool" they were to wear one. He wasn't falling for it. He promptly asked me to take it off. He acted like "Oh, my finger doesn't hurt AT ALL anymore! Just kidding, mama! "

Don't you just love his expression?!?

He wanted to take a photo of himself. Ta-Da!
