Sayings at 3

If he can't remember the answer and you ask him a question, he says "hmm..you tell it."

He likes to recognize your favorite things and act like a "buddy" and say in a silly voice "that's your favorite!"
"Oh, mommy likes water. That's her favorite!"

He likes to be a part of the conversation and will quietly listen to your conversation with someone and then repeat it and start "fake laughing" like he is on a TV sitcom. (Headed tilted back and air laughing)

He reminds Daddy to give Mommy a hug, kiss, and "ugga mugga" (Daniel Tiger rubs noses with his parents (Ugga Mugga)) when he leaves for work. He will correct you if you do it wrong..."stand up and touch bellies to hug." Such a matchmaker.  ;-)

When he demands something instead of asking nicely, I will ask him to "try again and ask me nicely." Then, he proceeds to use a high squeaky voice and says "Please may I..." while he shrugs his shoulders up to his ears and holds his hands by his chin. It makes me laugh inside each time.

When he wanted ice cream tonight, he told Daddy in the car, "Daddy, you want us to go to Dairy Queen and bring you ice cream to work?? You like that!" (He was genuinely was thinking of Daddy, but also thinking he would score some too.) We share, right?!?

Watch out if you are riding in the car with him. He is the seat belt police.

He corrected BeBe when she said "Scrumpious" because he thought that was a bad word. He said "BeBe, we say "Oh, Boy!" I had to let him know that word was okay and explained to him what it meant.

Lastly, Ben was talking about watching Hell's Kitchen to me. Jack repeated it. I said, Daddy did you say "Help's Kitchen" where they help each other in the kitchen? He went along with it. Now, if it is brought up Jack says Help's Kitchen with great annunciation.

Note from a parent on the street

Your Saturday night jams coming out of your car parked in your driveway are not favored when my son is trying to go to sleep. It was a rough night last night and he really needs his sleep.

Plus, the repetitive beat is quite annoying...

Thanks, your neighbor that wants to throw something at your car stereo.

2 hours later

Um, I think messing with his schedule by 30 minutes was a bad idea. He cried, screamed, fought a good fight. However, he finally gave it up and went to sleep 2 hours after my post.

I guess getting something done before bedtime wasn't in my plans.

I sure do hope he is in a good mood tomorrow. We had a lot of fun things planned to do with grandparents.

Now, to try and get somethings done before my brain and body crash……….

Early bedtime

He hardly had a nap today, so we were winding down early this evening. Through the yawns and rubbing of eyes, this is how our conversation went down....

I said, "Don't get up until the sun comes up..." He said, "mommy, it is not dark outside!!!"

Darn it. :-/

We have to tell him that because if not, he will come popping in our room at 6am. If he can look outside around 7 and see it coming up, then he can join us for morning snuggles. I need to buy one of those clocks for kids. :-)

Less than a week

In less than a week, my son will be turning 3!!! What?!??

Cleaning spree

I washed 3 loads of laundry, cleaned out the laundry room, vacuumed, lined a new piece of furniture with contact paper, put our dinner in the crockpot, and I am currently cleaning out another box of crap that we have been moving around for 8 years. While my boys went to the library and ran errands, I got a lot done! YES!

I think I will play outside with my boy this afternoon and relax.
